Campus Party Brasil
São Paulo · 2008–2017 · 8 editions
Campus Party is the longest-running thread in my speaking history. What started as attending in 2008 turned into designing and curating an entire hands-on robotics area: the Oficina de Robótica Livre (Free Robotics Workshop) and the Desafio de Robótica Livre (Free Robotics Challenge), a line-follower competition built entirely on open hardware and open tooling.
Across the editions the content followed the technology: from bare Arduino and homemade Severino boards, through 3D printing, to ESP8266 and wearable PCBs.
2017
Two workshops in the official programme:
- Esqueça o Arduino: desvendando o ESP8266
- Faça a sua própria placa de circuito eletrônico — Wearables
Also took part in a panel alongside Newton C. Braga. Designed and 3D-printed custom badge holders for the team.
2016
Free Robotics Challenge, plus 3D-printed parts and trophies produced on site for the competing teams.
2015
Workshops and the Free Robotics area.
2014
Talk “Leo Livre e Xduino: as customizações do Arduino que estão sendo utilizadas”, recorded and part of the official CPBR7 programme.
2012
Curator of the Free Robotics Challenge — wrote the official rules, assembled the component and tooling lists, and ran the workshop kits.
2011
Free Robotics Workshop, built around the Arduino Severino (S3V3) board and ATmega8/168 programming. Also spoke at the opening session.
2009
Arduino workshop using the Arduino 0012 toolchain.
2008
First edition attended.
