Intel IoT Roadshow

Intel’s IoT Roadshow was a hackathon format: teams arrive with an idea, get handed an Intel Edison, and have to ship a working prototype before the clock runs out. I worked as a mentor and instructor — mostly meeting teams at the exact point where the hardware refuses to cooperate.

Wrote and delivered the bring-up walkthrough used by the teams: flashing the Edison
firmware image, connecting the dual USB cables, reaching the debug serial console at
115200 baud on /dev/ttyUSB0, and mounting and reflashing the on-board filesystem —
including the USB 3.0 gotcha that silently breaks the mount.
